Advanced File Selection for Backup Jobs

Hi there

I wondered if i could get some clarification on a few options here

-Files Dated option - the documentation says "Select this to include or exclude the files created or modified during a specific time period" - is this really true ? cos if it is it seems a bit inflexible since created and modified dates are very different things. Eg) if i wanted to back up all files with a modified date between 2001-2002 i would also get all files created between 2001-2002 even if most of those files created in 2001-2002 have been changed (modified) in 2005. this makes it very difficult to archive old data. any suggestions pls

-only modified files - the documentation says "Select this to include or exclude modified files in the path you specify" - aren't all files modified (have a modified date) on creation ?

any help would be greatly appreciated before we embark on a major archival project for SOX.... :)Message was edited by:

Yes all files created will by default have modfiied date corresponding to the created date, this is bydesign.
