Alert problem in BackupExec 2010 R2

I am trying to set up an alert in backup exec to notify me when a job needs a new tape inserted. I want to be alerted by email, and I only want to be alerted ONCE, not multiple times. It seems that this is not possible in backup exec 2010 R2..?

I have tried to go to "Alerts" -> "Configure Alert Categories", and selected "Media Intervention" as the category. I am able to set up alerts on this screen, but I get an email every few minutes when a new tape needs to be inserted. I see that there is an "Automatically clear alert after" box, but this is greyed out and I cannot change it (and I am not sure that it would have the affect that I want).

I know that emails can be limited under the "Configure Recipients" dialog, but this seems to affect ALL alert categories. I just want to limit the "Media Intervention" category, not all categories.

Thanks, but it seems this will affect ALL alerts, not just the "Please insert a new tape" alerts... I do not want to limit other alerts.
