Hello,
in the selection list of your Exchange job deselect 'Microsoft Site Replication Service' refer to link: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH68213

But we need to convert Exchange 2003 to a virtual machine for 2003 to 2010 migration. Will it work if we deselect this option?
Thanks.

It will work but it would be much better to do the migration first and then conversion to virtual.

I actually need to convert the physical exchange 2003 to virtual, shut down the physical and then do the migration. Exchange 2010 will also be physical.
Thanks.
