Hi all,
I have a problem with an expantion of IBM TS3500 library used by Backup Exec 11d.
In the past with only 1 frame with 4 LTO2 drives all works fine.
Now with the second frame the problem seems to be a mismatch element address for the 2 new LTO3 drives.
Backup Exec reads the element status of the library and the result is 14 drives elements, Backup Exec configures the 2 new drives sequentially to the old 4 drives but the library drives address schema is:
DRIVE LTO2 first frame
DRIVE LTO2
DRIVE LTO2
DRIVE LTO2
empty
empty
empty
empty
empty
empty
empty
empty
----------
DRIVE LTO3 second frame
DRIVE LTO3
total 14 drive element
but from the adamm log I can see this:
Drive Element 0 1002, "" LTO2
Drive Element 1 1004, "" LTO2
Drive Element 2 1005, "" LTO2
Drive Element 3 1019, "" LTO2
Drive Element 4 1027, "" LTO3 <- WRONG element address
Drive Element 5 1028, "" LTO3 <- WRONG elemant address
Drive Element 6 0, ""
Drive Element 7 0, ""
Drive Element 8 0, ""
Drive Element 9 0, ""
Drive Element 10 0, ""
Drive Element 11 0, ""
Drive Element 12 0, "" <- this is the correct element address for the first LTO3
Drive Element 13 0, "" <- this is the correct element address for the second LTO3
I try to correct the new 2 drives element position from the gui interface with drag&drop but I can't move the 2 drives in the last 2 element position.
Can someone help me?
