Axapta 3.0 and Veritas Backup

I'm trying to use veritas 10.0 with open file and sql plugins. When I try to remotely backup my microsoft axapta server (which uses a sql 2000 database). I get the errors listed below.

Database AXTRAINING8 was not found, or could not be accessed.
The item SQLTST01\AXTRAINING8 in use - skipped.
Database AXTRAINING7 was not found, or could not be accessed.
The item SQLTST01\AXTRAINING7 in use - skipped.
Database AXTRAINING6 was not found, or could not be accessed.
The item SQLTST01\AXTRAINING6 in use - skipped.
Database AXTRAINING5 was not found, or could not be accessed.
The item SQLTST01\AXTRAINING5 in use - skipped.
Database AXTRAINING4 was not found, or could not be accessed.
The item SQLTST01\AXTRAINING4 in use - skipped.
Database AXTRAINING3 was not found, or could not be accessed.
The item SQLTST01\AXTRAINING3 in use - skipped.
Database AXTRAINING2 was not found, or could not be accessed.
The item SQLTST01\AXTRAINING2 in use - skipped.
Database AXTRAINING1 was not found, or could not be accessed.

basically it says it can't back up axata db files. I tried stopping the aos first but the backups still fail. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hello Carl,

To be able to backup the SQL 2000 database on the Axapta server, you need to have SQL Agent installed on it.

I have the sql agent installed on the Veritas 10.0 media server I was unable to figure out how to install the sql agent on the sql server itself. It offered me the option to install the backup exec agent and open file agent but not the sql agent when I did the remote install to the sql2000 server from the media server.Message was edited by:

Hi,

If SQL server is installed on a server other than the Backup Exec server you have to install Remote Agent for Windows Servers on the SQL server.


The SQL server agent has to be added on to the media server. After license is added please note that the remote agent software component has to be installed on the remote server.
