B2D jobs are not overwriting media

I have an exchange backup job run nightly to 7 differant B2D directories (all configured the same way). How i have them set up is to overwrite the old jobs in the directory every time. This allows me to keep 7 days worth of backups. All 7 backups were working properly until about a month ago. 2 of the 7 backups stopped overwriting the old backups and started adding the new one to the directory. I noticed this today when the 2 directories had over a months worth of backups in them.

Here is what i have checked so far.

Backup job says to overwrite only
Media set has an append period of Infinite
Media set OVerwrite period is set to none

I have read through both the below articals and everything is in order. Any suggestions

http://support.veritas.com/docs/237374
http://support.veritas.com/docs/192265

This is strang that it is only happening to 2 of the 7 B2D folders.

Thanks

Media set Overwrite period is set to none

This is what is preventing the data from being overwritten.  Change it to 6 days and they should start overwriting again

So when i go to the Media set porperties the Overwrite protection period is greyed out with no way to change the option from none. How can i change this option.

So know im confused. It also says at the bottum
WARNING: Any Media can be overwritten if the overwrite Protection level is set to None. The overwrtie protection level is currently set to None.

If i need to specify a period then thats cool but why whould Symantec display this message? Its very miss leading in that case

Thanks for you help

To set defaults for media management

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. On the Properties pane, under Settings, click Media Management.

I'd suggest "partial"
