B2D requesting additional overwritable media.

System : Windows 2003 server, BE10.0 , 3 usb rev drives.
Overwrite protection none on media set, append period: infinitive, allow append.

3 B2D Devices with max size set to 1GB, max number of files 100,disk space reserve 10MB, Priority all 10.

Now normally everything works fine, first set on B2D-1, second on B2D-2, 3e on B2D-3, 4th on B2D-1.

Sometimes this doens't works and he starts putting all sets on B2D-2 and B2D-3 (example). When these disks get to their max capacity (only 10mb left), i get an allert stating to put other media in the drives. Now on B2D-1 there is enough space, so if i answer no the the question for drive 2 he asks again for drive3, answer again no and he starts backing up on drive 1.... 1 sets, and then trys to backup on disk2, gets message ..; etc....

How can i change this beheviour so that if drive 2 and 3 is full, he only backups on drive 1.....

Rgds

Hello,

Backup Exec 9.x and 10.0 Does have support for "Hard drives" ONLY as long as they appear as a standard drive letter under windows explorer.

For Hard drive you need to create Removable-B2D folder in order to perform backups to.

For more details on supported drives please refer to the HCL (Hardware Compatibility List)

please see the foll technote and confirm whether you have done te same:
http://support.veritas.com/docs/253764

Also please see the foll technotes to verify the Opp and App period:

An explanation of the "Overwrite Protection Period" and the "Append Period" :
