BE 10D doesn't detect my new HP StorageWorks Ultrium 960 1/8 Autoloader

Hi!

I just replaced my HP StorageWorks Ultrium 460 with HP StorageWorks Ultrium 960 1/8 Autoloader. BE 10D(rev.5629) doesn't detect it as a library, but as a standalone backup unit. How do I fix this?

Are you sure it is cabled properly? Are the SCSI ID's properly set on the Library?
If it is try getting the updated drivers for BE 10D and installing them.

Hope this helps.

Hi!
I have checked the cables.
The autoloader is detected in Device Manager (it did that before as well).
Now I'm reinstalling BE 10d.
I will post the outcome.

Cheers

Hi again,

During reboot the autoloader get the port id :4 and Scsi id : 5.

Hi!

After reinstalling BE 10d, the same happens.
It detects standalone backupdevice, but not the robotic library.
Those of you who have any information concerning this, that would be great.

Cheers

Is this connected to a HP Server ?

Are you trying to use the on-board RAID controller SCSI connection on the back of the server ?

Libraries can NOT use this connection as it does not support multi LUN, which is required for libraries.

If the answer is yes, then you will require a new PCI SCSI card for connection of the library.

Hello,

--- Kindly change Scsi id of the Medium changer to SCSI id 2 and the drive to SCSI id 3.

--- Stop "Removable storage" service and change startup type to manual.

Thank You,

Shweta
