BE 11 on SBS 2003 Remote Management

Currently the only way I've found to allow someone to manage the tapes (eject, inventory and wipe) from a remote machine is to make them a domain admin on SBS 2003 (or to use the builtin administrators group).

Obviously having the secretary of a company (even if it is only 5 people) having domain admin permissions doesn't fall under any best practices guides and doesn't meet federally required SOX requirements for some companies.

Is there another way to allow someone to manage the media without giving them god status on the domain (short of finding a better product?).

Just a pingback to see if anyone has any information on this...

Used to be a free add-on called ExecView, but that disappeared about v10.0

I doubt that they'll update v11 at this point, but if enough people complain about it, request it, v12 may get it back

ExecView would let users either just monitor jobs or monitor jobs and respond to alerts, or to also release predefined jobs.  None of the other Admin type functions of RemoteAdmin were available.  Couldn't create or modify jobs or schedules or selection lists, etc.
