BE 12.5 - IBM LT03-060 SCSI - Geräte hinzufügen

Hallo

Folgende Meldung erscheint

Instanzen eines SCSI-Plug & Play-Geräts gefunden
SetupDiGetDeviceRegistryPropery(ClassGUID) fehlgeschlagen, Fehler=-2147024883
\DISK&VEN_&PROD_\6&CED9ED9&0&000600

Have you tried installing Symantec drivers for the tape drive.

Ja, habe ich versucht. Gleiche Meldung wie oben

SetupDiGetDeviceRegistryPropery(ClassGUID) fehlgeschlagen, Fehler=-2147024883
\DISK&VEN_&PROD_\6&CED9ED9&0&000600

Symantec-Gerätetreiber gefunden
Hardware-Scan abgeschlossen

Hi there,

Try the following:

1. Delete the library from within Backup Exec, and then from within Device Manager.

2. Delete the SCSI card drivers (make sure it's the SCSI card that the library is connected too).

3. Disconnect the library, and shut it down. Restart the server, and once it boots into Windows, check and make sure the SCSI card is detected properly. Update the SCSI card drivers if you are able to.

4. Shut down the server, reconnect the library and turn it on. Once it finishes its start-up procedure, turn on the server and let it boot.

5. Run the Device Configuration Wizard from within BE and install the Symantec drivers.

6. Update the library's firmware if required.

Check to see if this resolves the issue.

Thanks!

Hallo

Was Verstehst du unter Library?

...somewhere along the line Google Translate got the translation wrong from German to English...

I've done the same thing with a library, and autoloader, and a stand-alone tape drive. THe means to remove them from BE and Windows and re-add them stands...it's all the same, so give it a go.

Is your tape drive not perhaps attached to a RAID controller which won't be a supported configuration? Are all your services started up within BE?

If the tape drive isn't visible in BE, can you see it in Device Manager? If not, resolve the issue in Windows first, as BE will see what Windows sees...

I'm trying it in the english language

I had the tape in Backup exec bevor.
Because of an error I have deleted this in BE.
I have not changed the hardware in the meantime
Yes, all BE services are started
Yes I see the tape in devicemanager

thanks medtech...any errors in the Event Viewer or in BE's Alerts tab? Is it connected to a SCSI card, or a RAID controller?

Hello CraigV

There are no error in the event log oder in BE Alerts tab.

In meantime I have installed Backup Exec 12.5 for Windows Servers revision 2213 hotfix 327966, Device Driver Installer, bu it did not resolve the problem.

The tape is connected to the scsii controller

I wanted to make a test in windows backup, but tapes are no more supported from windows backup.

At the moment i make a backup to disk - it works, but iI want to do the backup on tape

Can you see the tape library/unit in Windows device manager ?

During boot of the system, do you see the tape library/unit when the SCSI adapter initializes ?

...might be a good idea to get hold of the IBM tape tools and make sure you don't have a hardware issue...

Does anyone have a link to me for an IBM Tape Tool?
