I have downloaded and implemented 12.5 trial, I have installed an old tape loader driver. This is an SDLT 320 drive. I have searched for the last few days here as well as google to find a resolution but I am at a stand still.
I have changed the registry entry HKLM|Software|Symantec|backup Exec|server|LoadBalaceBehavior to 1 instead of 0.
I have the windows drivers set as "unknown loader" as all of the post state.
I can inventory, format and do any task associated with the drive itself.
The problem I have is that when I try to inventory the library I get the "ready; No idle devices are available" message and it sits there and does nothing.
I have contacted overland and they have had me run some tests, everything came back fine.
I will NOT be purchasing this software unless I know that I can do a restore from the older tapes that we have this is imparitive to our operations.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
