I upgraded to BE 12 for Windows about 62 days ago from 11. While it has been working quite nicely, apparently the agents were not covered by maintenance, so they were upgraded as eval versions that are now all expired (so I can only backup my backup server, which has very little data stored on it).
I was told that I could downgrade the agents to 11d until I can get the maintenance straightened out, but I've uninstalled the agent, rebooted and installed 11d and now it's refusing to connect to the remote agents, with an error saying "A newer version of Backup Exec Remote Agent is installed on the remote computer. You must upgrade this media server or use the Remote Agent Utility to add or remove this media server from the list of media servers that the Remote Agent publishes information to." The remote agent is a new download, but version 11d (for which I believe I still have a license even if the maintenance was left off) and the media server is version 12.
Do I have to downgrade my media server to make this work again?
