BE 2010 R3 Restore VM Diff ends with 0xe00084ca

Hi,

I'm trying to restore a whole VM, but it ends with 0xe00084ca

Backround:

Using VMWare ESX.

Every first saturday in every month i run a full backup of VM. Every working day (Mo - Fr) I run a incr. backup of VM and on all other saturdays in month I run a diff. backup of VM. All done by a policy.

Every backup run successfully.

Now I want to try to restore diff backup of VM on another location.

So I choose the diff backup to restore & BE tells me, that It will automatically take the full backup.

Then set the location to an other ESX Server.

But everytime it ends up with 0xe00084ca - The data being read from the media is inconsistent

Backups are all saved on a iSCSI connected HDD.

Restoring full backup works fine.

So what can be the problem?

Thanks!!!

...you'd need your full backup + the differential tape. So get both of them to the remote site, run the catalog and do the restore.

I'm not working with tapes, I have all my data saved on a iSCSI connected HDD, full & diff backup is there and also in the catalog!
