BE 2012-No Rules, How to supersede a Daily Differential Backup?

Hi,

may anybody give an advice on how to supersede a Daily Differential Backup if this Job collied with a Full Backup Job (pls. see attachment).

Also is it possible to configure the weekly job to reset the archive bit wether the other FullBackups will not alter the archive bit.

Hi,

The way that backup job is set up should run as per the old rules.

BE should recognise that a yearly job has a higher priority than a normal weekly/monthly job and run that instead.

To add a little more detail to CraigV's answer BE looks at the frequency of the stages within the Job. If the stages start at the same time then the built in rule that applies is that the job that runs less frequently is deemed to take priority

i.e. a Yearly will run ahead of a Monthly, a Monthly ahead of a Weekly and a Weekly ahead of a Daily

It works almost perfectly.

All my jobs are scheduled/superseded as Colin mentioned. Except my daily/monthly backup jobs, the monthly backup isn't recognized as a job with "higher" priority. Has any one of you a fix for this situation?
