BE 2012 backing up system state and system files on domain controller

Hello,

I have a question about the system state and system files.

We have two domain controller and backing up system status on both computers.
On domain controller 1 the backup size is about 1GB and on domain controller 2 about 21GB.

I found out that system files on DC1 are a few hundred megabytes and on DC2 the system files are about 20 gigabytes!

Now my question: What are these system files?
Where can I find them?

Regards
Chris

...this is more of a MS question to be honest. Have you checked the Shadow Copy Components?

Thanks!

Chris here is what Backup Exec 2012 considers a part of System State and is backed up.

Active Directory,
Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS),
Certificate Services, Cluster Quorum,
COM+ Class Registration Database,
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP),
Event Logs,
File Server Resource Manager (FSRM),
Internet Information Services,
MS Search Service,
Network Policy Server (NPS),
Performance Counter,
Registry,
Remote Storage,
Removable Storage Manager (RSM),
Shadow Copy Optimization,
System Files,
SYSVOL,
Task Scheduler,
Terminal Server Licensing (TSL),
Terminal Services Gateway (TSG),
VSS Express Writer,
Windows Deployment Services (WDS),
Windows Internet Name Service (WINS),
Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)

You probabely would need to compare both the servers data and see what is different.

@CraigV

Not sure what you mean with check the Shadow Copy Components...

Sorry I wrote something wrong in the first post.

DC1 have no! system files and complete backup of DC1 is just a few megabyte.
DC2 have system files and complete backup of DC2 is about 21GB while about 20GB are system files.

Is it bad that there are no system files on DC1?
