BE Connection Lost

Hi All,

I keep getting this message intermittenly. I am not sure what causes the problem, as there is no changes done since day 1 of the autoloader setup. Refer screenshot attached. Is there any indication where went wrong?

Have double checked and the cable is firmly connected.

Hello User999,
    Could you provide with some more information on this :

1) What is the version of Backup Exec
2) Is SQL instance where Backup Exec database resides, is on local server of remote server
3) Have you seen and trend that you get this error at same time everyday
4) Are there any Events generated in the Event viewer regarding SQL or Backup exec when this error occurs??

Hi User999,

Do you run a CASO environment? I do, and get this when the line speed is too slow to maintain a consistent link between the CASO server in our data center, and the MMS.
Best bet is to change the link speed and update times between the CASO and the MMS to a slower connection. You can do this on the CASO, under Managed Media Servers, and right-clicking your server in question and making the change under Properties (I think it is Properties).
If you DON'T run a CASO environment, best bet would be to start with patching your media server with the latest available patches.

You can try running a extensive repair of BE database from BE utility 

Go to Beutility : "X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\BEUTILITY.exe"

- Say yes to the message

- click on all media servers

- right click media server name on the right hand pane  (and run the following options in the specified manner)

1. repair database

2. rebuild database indices

3. Compact database

4. Age database

5. Check database consistency
