Is this a new installation, or an existing installation that was working previously? If it was working previously, what changes were made in the environment around the time these errors began?

Its an existing installation working previously, only thing i noticed was the server stopped responding suddenly so i had to restart the comp( normal shutdown and restart) after which BE stopped working.

Best regards

I have the same problem and receive the same error in the Event Log.  My catalog files were taking up too much space on the hard drive.  So, I changed the location of the catalog directory and pointed it to my storage drive (same physical disk but different logical). I restarted the services and now BE server will not start.  BE Device and Media Svc. and BE Remote agent will start. I looked all over and found that an uninstall will not work.  I tried updating with SP1 and still nothing.  I, also, updated the security patch for .NET Framework 2.0. Still nothing. The version of beserver.exe is 11.0.7170.13.
