BE10.1d + Ralus agent B2D fail with access denied error after Linux server reboot

BE has been working fine for some time backing up Windows and a Linux server using B2D. I recently had to reboot the Linux server and ever since then BE reports
"The job failed with the following error: Access is denied"

However, it does look like the backup has backed up data as when the job ran it copied around 1TB of data when view via "Job Monitor", which is in line with what I would expect - I also get the same error with daily diffs.

The logon account seems to work fine and I can browse the selection lists Ok.

I read that Symantec have an issue with the Ralus agent with BE11 but does this apply with BE10.1 as well? I mentioned this as the only other factor I can think of, since the reboot, is that with a recent project we now store tens of thousands of folders, each with maybe 1 or 2 files in them, with a lengthy directory structure, and I believe the BE11 issue relates to 2GB files size or more.

All Windows backup ups work cleanly.

Any help, diagnosis tips appreciated.

For the record - adding the following line to the ralus.cfg file seems to have fixed it:

Software\VERITAS\Backup\ Exec\Engine\RALUS\Encoder=LATIN-1

The agent was unable to read non EUC encoded characters.
