BE2010 Licensing: NDMP + SSO + BE server + Shares Library (2xLTO5 / 90 slots) + FC SAN...

Hello,

Here is below the environment:

• 1x BE2010 server connected on the LAN only

• 1x NAS NetApp FAS2040HA (Dual Controllers) on the FC-SAN;
• 1x NAS Oracle 7120 (single controller) on the FC-SAN;
• 1x Tape Library with two drives / 90 slots on the FC-SAN.

I wish to share the library dynamically between the two NAS (NetApp & Oracle) via FC-SAN.

I wish to backup first the NetApp NAS with the 2 drives and then the Oracle NAS.

I will only use NDMP.

Can you please help me for the licensing?

I do think I would need:

• 1x BE2010 License server;
• 2x NDMP options for NAS NetApp & Oracle;
• 1x LEO option (for 2nd drive);
• 2x SSO options;

Can you please confirm or not the BE2010 licensing?

You don't need the SSO licence since you have only 1 media server.  Other than is, the other licences are fine.

Yep, you are right, but don't forget any remote agent licenses or licenses for any DBs either

Assuming the Oracle NAS is on our Hardware Compatibility List for NDMP then my main concern would be that we probably have not tested mixed vendor NDMP NAS environments sharing a library so you may have unexpected results and problems with device contention etc.
