Hi
 
I Have backuup server with win2003 Server and BENT 9.1 with the latest BE tape driver taep device HP LTO 200/400.
 
My problem is when I backup remote exchange server 2003 SP2 mailboxes.
 
The speed for backup files and IS is 700-800MB ps. Backing up mailboxes its 70-100MB ps.
 
Both server have 1Gb NIC and Swith Hub with Giga ports.
 
Any idea how to speed up the backup of the mailboxes?

There is no way to speed them up, due to the kludge that Veritas came up with to do them (since Microsoft does not suppy an API to do it
 
Weve seen reports of speeds of 25-30 MB/min on decent hardware for bricklevel  backups
 
Take a look at http://mail.tekscan.com/nomailboxes.htm for a fuller discussion.  Perhaps you want to limit brick-level backups to a few high profile users?
