BEWS 12.5 locks up Server2003 sending job logs

Newly installed MS Server 2003R2, Tandberg LTO2 drive, BEWS 12.5 rev 2213, no options/agents

Nightly backup job runs fine until it sends the job complete notification.  The server completely locks up and must be hard booted to recover.  Nothing is logged in the error logs.

With notification turned off the job runs fine when run manually or scheduled.

Tried deleting and recreating the job, no difference.  Tried job without including the job log, no difference.

The lockup can be reproduced doing a test backup of a smaller job.

I hate when posts say what I am about to say, but here it goes.....

Have you found a resolution to this issue.  I am not having the same exact issue, but similar.  My server will just lock up.  not every time and not reproducible.  I am backing up to a RD1000 and using 12.5. I was just wondering what you decided to do as I am about ready to go back to 12.  It seemed pretty stable.
