Hi there,
The backup jobs ended with an error :"the backup job failed with the following error: Backup Exec system service engine did not responds", and refers to the article V-79-57344-33241. The job was created with the Administrator account, the service too and its ruuning.
The job is a folder to a NAS backup.
Please help me.

Hi Craig,
I also tried using the BE support tool http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH135126 , that told me the account has no permissions, mmmm it's an administrator equivalent one.
Executed the b2dtest.exe ...
Finally, after several attempts to fix it, I had to repair the installation from the DVD of installation of product.
This has repaired the necessary entries and voila!
It's works!
Regards.

Hi there,
If you're backing up to a NAS, you need to check the TN below to make sure you comply with the requirements. From my side, we use NAS's in our environment and I don't use CIFS/NFS. The Iomega models we have are capable of using iSCSI, and I present iSCSI LUNs to the backup server. This gets around any authentication errors I'd normally be experiencing. If you don't have any user data on your NAS, it's a worthwhile option to check out.

You might also want to get hold of the B2Dtest.exe tool from the Symantec website which will tell you whether or not your NAS is supported as a B2D target.
Thanks!
