Back up not compressing

Hello, I have been trying to solve it myself for ages but it wont work.
I have Veritas backup Exec 9.0 with a Windows server 2003. We had some days when it didnt backup at all, i managed to solve that. Now, it does backup but it wont compress, so i have to change the tape when it gets full. I set it up to compress but it wont do it, any ideas about what i can do??

Thanks a lot in advance.

i forgot to say that i am using DELL DLT tapes 40GB/80GB, uncompressed and compressed. We have around 60GB, and set to compress by hardware (otherwise none), i think.
Should i change that??
Thanks!

It is probably a driver issue.

You can try upgrading to v9.1 (here)
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/264658.htm

SP4a here
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/280008.htm

with the latest driver ppack (here)
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/273853.htm

if that doesn't work, try using Manufacturer drivers.

If that still doesn't work, try Software Compression only.

I tried the upgrade, but it wont let me install it because says that serial number has been already registered, because i am inputting the one for the previous version, which one otherwise?

Hello,

There is no need to reenter the serial numbers. Run the upgrade without entering the same.

Thanks
