Dear Sir:
Actually, all you need to do is copy the folders named CATALOGS and DATA which reside in the program directory: "\program files\symantec\backup exec."
This is so unless you have moved the Catalogs location (due to disk space issues for example) and you can check this by choosing Tools, Options, Catalogs, and verify the Catalogs path.
The Catalogs folder holds the backup set information needed for restoring data, and the DATA directory holds the Backup Exec SQL Server database (amongst other contents) which contains the job settings, job logs and device and media data.
In case of a failure or disaster, you can install Backup Exec fresh on another machine, and then import the Catalogs and the database.
This documernt describes how to migrate Backup Exec from one server to another, which is equivalent to what you would do in case of a disaster:

Carlos: WHY are you resurrecting forums posts that are a couple of months old? There was no further response on this...
Thanks!
