Backing up remote resources hangs for 2 hours

Hi,

Has anyone seen an issue whereby a backup of a server in a non-trusted domain hangs for 2 hours each time a new resource is backed up?

We are backing up two Domain Controllers (one of which also has exchange 2000 installed), the elapsed time suddenly increased from 08:34 to over 18:30.  The local domain resources backup without delay but the Drive, Shadow Copy Component or Mail store resources on the Exchange server hang for 2 hours before backing up successfully.

I have included the environment and job log below (I have highlighted the affected resources and some timings either side in red).

Seems to have resolved itself (again!!!) without any reboots or changes, etc.....

Now taking 8:30 hours again.
