Backup 10D services will not start

I had to reinstall my backup exec 10d Software and have had nothing but problems since then. The Backup Exec Job Engine and Backup Exec Server services will not start. They have the correct user ID and Password assigned to them. I have also changed the dcom security and still have the same problems. When I try to start the Job Engine I get the message Could not start the backup Exec Job Engine on local computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start. When I check all the service it depends on they are all started. I have also included the two event logs that I get when trying to get the services started. Any help would be appreciated since I have not had backup in a few weeks.

Can any one help me with these problems? The support articles are not any help at all to solve this problem. I'm about to get rid of Backup Exec and buy software from a different vendor.

I have also did a manual uninstall of Backup exec and fresh install with still no luck. Have been dealing with no backups for three weeks now. Please help!

After a year and a half of functioning well, after an unatended reboot, I-ve got the same eror message at Service Start for Backup Exec 10d (SP1):

Checking on the internet, the only solution found was to check over the mdac and to fix the mismatches. BUT YESTERDAY EVERYTHING WAS FINE and no new install were done. Anything else to check in order to restart the backup service? Any other ideea?

Hi,

Checking again, I have done the following:
- apply the BE10d-SP3
- check and follow instructions found here http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/277214.htm
- change nothing into config, neither server nor the software
- restarted the BE Server Service and related services.

Everything works now. Hope that it will work after a hardware restart too.
