Backup Agent 12.5 Keeps stopping

Graham541
Not applicable
Hi,

O/S: Windows 2003
Backup Exec Windows 12.5

The backup will complete, but then the agent stops with this error message in the application log:

Faulting application beremote.exe, version 12.5.2213.101, faulting module bedsnote.dll, version 12.5.2213.0, fault address 0x00022220.

It seems to be related to the Lotus Notes agent. How can I fix this?

Thanks,

Graham

I have the same problem....

Noticed this the other day after I added the last few updates?

BE12.5 doesn't even need to be running a backup, it just crashes the local agent leaving the error in the logs.  All backups on remote servers with agents come through fine?

Suspect it must be one of the fixes?  But saying that on another server we have, running same config, all seems okay!

Any help would be useful

Cheers

Hi,

Read this forum:
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/agent-crashing-domino-after-upgrade-12
There are a few keys you should change in the registry in order to solve this issue.
Changing the Journal and database filtering solved my issue.

Try this and let us know.

Hi Nikos,

Good spot, I thought I had the registry in change in place, maybe one of the updates replaced them?

I have added them again and will see how things go.

Many thanks

I have modified the registry key

HKLM\Software\Symantec\Backup Exec For Windows\Backup Exec\Engine\DOMINO

And changed Enable Notes Databse Filtering to 0

Now all seem working.

Thank you

Hi Nikos,

Glad to report a nice full backup completed Friday, so it was down to the keys in the registry for Domino.

Many thanks again
