Backup Error V-79-D-34009

When I start a backup, it fails within the first 40 seconds. The job completion status is as follows:

Final error: 0x84d9 - 0x 84d9 (34009)
Final error category: Other Errors

My baskup has been working fine for months. This problem just started happening in the last couple of days. Is this a hardware error of a software error? I have been unable to find any link to V-79-D-34009 on either the website or in the documentation. I am using Backup Exec for Windows Servers 2003, Ver.10.0 Rev 5520

I fixed the problem myself. It was caused by an open database. I closed the database, stopped and restarted services, logged back into the server and it worked ok.
