I am using Backup Exec 2010 R3 to perform tape backups of my SharePoint server farms. What is procedure to perform granular backups and restores of my documents and libraries? Is it possible to use my tapes to do this?

Please refer to the following technotes which answeres your queries;
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO21789 : Best practices for Backup Exec 2010 Agent for Microsoft SharePoint
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO23854 : Restoring individual SharePoint 2003 objects (Microsoft SQL Server-based) from full database backups
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO22651 : How to restore individual items by using Granular Recovery Technology
GRT restores is possible even when the backups are taken to tapes. If you are restoring from tape, do the following steps in the order listed:
On the Properties pane of restore job, under Settings, select Advanced.
Specify the path for a temporary staging location in the option titled Path on an NTFS volume that is local to the media server for temporary storage of restore data.
The path must reside on the Backup Exec media server. Symantec recommends that you avoid using system volumes for temporary staging locations.

The issue I see right away is the temporary staging area, I do not have a lot of space on my Backup Exec media server. I will cross that bridge... Thanks again!
