Basically I'm looking to find out if I can install Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers - SAN Shared Option on a install of backup exec that was patched to 10.1 (10.d). Don't want to waste any money. :)

yes, you can use the license of 10.0 with Backup Exec 10d, as it is a free upgrade. Hope that answers your question.
