Backup Exec 12.5 +Agent for Exchange 2010 +32bit Windows Media server

Hi All,

 

I have a very simple question that hopefully someone can answer quickly.

I have a client whose media server is a Windows 2003 Standard R2 SP1 server running BE 12.5 rev 2213 SP3

They have just implemented Exchange 2010 to their environment on a Windows 2008 64Bit server (where there was no Exchange at all previously)

They want to purchase an Exchange 2010 agent in order to back this up.

I have 2 questions

 

1. Will an Exchange 2010 agent run on BE 12.5?

2. Will it run on the server at all due to the fact that it is a 32bit operating system?

Hello 

 

 In order to backup Exchange 2010 you need to have BE2010 or BE2010R2 on a 

 Win 2008 64 bit or Win 2008R2 server. Also BE2010 agent will not communicate 

  with BE12.5 media server. Below article explains the requirements of Exchange 2010.
