Backup Exec 12.5 for Windows backup and restore of Oracle database will not work.

Has anyone ever been able to make this work ?
This is the main reason we purchased this software and it will NOT work.
I need to do an Oracle database backup using the remote agent and restore it to another server into an identical database on that server.
Simple right ? You'd think so.
The backup to tape runs successfully. I inventory and catalog the tape.
I set up and run a restore job and it SAYS it was successful. But - the data in my database is not updated.
I view by resource and select my target database, I test my credentials successfully, I select the media that the backup went to (certance1 in this case).
I do an Oracle redirect to where my target database is (same as my view by resource selection).
All is well, it runs but never actually does anything. Very dangerous because it says it was successful and it was not.
Has anyone ever done this - if so can you please tell me what I am missing here ?????

Hi I just did a redirect restore this week. Listed below the pre-requisite I got from different KB on redirecting the instance to a different Oracle server:

• Make sure that Oracle database has been installed in the same path as the original Oracle server.
• The folder structure will also need to be the same on the server the restore is being redirected to.
• Recreate the Oracle database using the same name used for the original database.
• Kindly ensure that an instance with the same name and database ID (DBID) is set up on the target server.
• The database status should be Nomount.
• Installation and configuration of Remote Agent for Oracle on the test server.
