Hi There!

We have supplied a client with a DAT320 HP USB Internal Drive. Windows see's it but strangely even though I see symantec don't supply drivers for backup exec 2010 for usb, it says if I supply my own drivers things should work. I can't seem to work out what I need to do to make it work!

Could someone assist me with this please?

It has the latest drivers provided via HP's website and also the latest firmware.

After loading the HP USB driver, have you run the Device Configuration Wizard?

With a USB tape drive, you got to load the manufacturer's driver to get it recognised and working with the OS first.  You then start up BE which will sense it and then you have to use the Device Configuration Wizard to configure it.

If you have installed this on Windows 2003 server, can you check if the same tape drive functions properly with NTBackup. This will isolate the issue if it is with the Tape drive or with Backup Exec.

Thanks,
