... for Windows or Exchange Agent can cause Runtime Errors on Windows Server 2003 SP2 x86, resulting in communication failure between the media server and the remote server on which the backup remote agent fails and gets stopped. The coresponding jobs do not complete an do not end or cancel.

Anybody has the same problem and knows a solution?

You got to provide more information on the error for anyone to help you

Here we go (sorry, i was ill the last working days) ...

last weekend there was another job (configured time to complete is 21 hours, the job ran more than 60 hours already), that did not end or canceled automatically, because the communication between the Backup Exec media server and the remote agent disrupted.

You cannot cancel the job. You need to login to the corresponding Exchange server, where the error message ...

"Final error: 0xe000ff12 - A communications failure has occurred with an Exchange Store resource"

... appears. Then you need to click ok in a popup window that says ...

"Runtime error" in a window called Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library (Program: UNKNOWN)

... and start the 'BackupExecAgentAccelerator' service again and the job gets ended automatically.

In the event log you will find that the above service was terminated unexpectedly with the timestamp from the time, when you clicked OK on the Runtime error window! Strange!

No further messages to find in the event log.

System is ... Windows Server 2003 SP2 x86 English with Exchange Server 2003 SP2 x86 English!
