Backup Exec 2010 R3 physical system backup to VMware

Currently running backup ecec 2010 R3 with "agent for VMware" , "remote agent". The backups running great in regards to backing up VM servers and restores but I have a problem with some DR testing.

I have 5 physical HP Proliant servers that are also being backed up (remote agent) but need the ability to restore directly from physical to a VM server, any way for backup exec to do this.

Currently testing Microsoft backup (VHD file) then converting this file to a VMware (VMDK file) then install as a VM server.

Unfortunately the current version of Backup Exec does not have any features about Physical to Virtual conversion. So we can not do that with current version of BE installed.

In the next release there is a feature to do the conversion of physical to virtual machine.

At this moment the other software Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2011 has the feature to perform the backup of physical machine and convert the backed up data to VMDK files so that they can be uploaded on ESX and run as Virtual machine.

Thanks,
