Backup Exec 2010 SBS - SQL Server 2014

My customer is running Backup Exec 2010 Small Business Suite and is remotely backing up a server running SQL 2008. He is looking to add another server that will be running SQL 2014.

My questions is, "Can Backup Exec 2010 remotely backup a server running Windows Server 2012/SQL Server 2014?".

If the answer is yes, then "Do I need to have a particular hotfix/patch installed?"

Yes, this requires the SQL agent.

But also check the SCL of BE 2010 if SQL 2014 is supported.

SQL Server 2014 is not supported...you would need to move to the latest version, BE 2014, in order to back that application up.
