Backup Exec 2010 and Information Store backup

JimStiene
Not applicable

Morning folks. Server crashed and last backup of the information store did not complete so it is rendered useless.

I went to the backup drive and can see the entire MDBDATA directory and the information store with E00 files in there opriginal foramt. I am in the process of copying the data to the original location on the exchange 2003 server.

QUESTION:  Will the store mount?? it was backed up prior to the crash... I am getting desperate because after spending 1 1/2 days running eseutil on the database (takes 10 hours per) I am starting to loose it.

Thanks in advance for any help with this issue

Jim

Hi Jim,

If you have a successful backup BEFORE the crash, and those files are available, there should be no reason for the IS not to mount.

Just follow the normal Microsoft DR procedures to recover Exchange in this scenario.

THanks!
