I don't think this article only addresses for B2D backups..

It addresses about the error V-79-57344-759: Final error: 0xe00002f7 - Cannot extract mailbox messages from the Exchange backup.

Are you trying to do a Legacy (Brick Level) mailbox backup?

Have you recently upgraded from Ex2003 to Ex2007?

Ex2007 does not support Brick Level mailbox backups.  If you want to be able to do Mailbox restores, your only option is to enable GRT on the stores backup(s)

And the setting you have to change is available in the right side of the window...

found it, made the change. but why would it let me run a job manually without failing?

rouute

nah, we deployed exch 2007 over a year ago and the BU's were working fine until last week.

Are you getting the same error after making that change?

or backup is working fine?

rouute

Maximum backup-to-disk file size may be set to 4GB.

Those settings will not create any problem.
