Backup Exec 2012 - 2 servers 2 RDX drives

Hi all,

We currently have 2 servers that we require to backup to 2 RDX drives.

The current setup is:

20:00 - Server 1 backs up to RDX Drive 1 > Eject

02:00 - Server 2 backs up to RDX Drive 2 > Eject

However, whenever the jobs run, the media ejects.....

Any ideas why this would be?

Hi Adam,

What type of RDX device do you have?  Please verify it is in the Backup Exec HCL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH175582

Hi Imosia,

Thanks very much for your reply. They are both Tandberg RDX drives with 160gb cartridges.

Both jobs ran fine to one RDX, however, due to space issues on the cartridge, we have implemented a second drive...

Did you check the Eject after job completes option?

Hi pkh, yes, this option is selected, however, the cartridge ejects at the start of the job... thanks

Check whether there is a Media Insert alert asking for overwritable media.  If there is such an alert, it means that your cartridges are full and cannot be overwritten.  You need to either get more cartridges or shorten your OPP.
