Backup Exec 2012 cannot change media description

Hello again!

I noticed today that I cannot change media description of my tapes?

When I try to change the description of the media the button Apply gets greyed out.

Only the tapes that is online is possible to change the description of.

In 12.5 it was possible to change media description regardless of location of tape?

Ideas?

Are they in working media sets (ie. for your jobs?) or in something like the Retired Media set?

They are in working mediasets.

We have a routine to take monthly full backups out of system and put them in a safe.

Therefore they are marked in the description field. When we reuse them again after one year it is necessary

to remove the description.

What happens if you re-label the tape?  is the description field blanked out?

BE 2012 has a known problem with the inability to change the media description when a media is not in a library or drive.  I haven't seen a technote, but I believe it will be fixed.

The workaround is to change the media description before you export the media from your library.

I do want a solution on this problem. It is vital for me to be able to change media description without having the tape media mounted?
