Backup Exec 2012, reports fail to run

Hi all,

After upgrade from symantec backup exec 201o R2 to 2012 SP1a, I encountered error when running report in BE 2012, no matter it is a new custom report or a report under the reports templete. The error is:

The Server was unable to complete the requested Operation.
Unknown reason: 10.
Calling Method "ExecuteReportJobwithArgs'
BEMSDK Method 'CBemReportJob.Execute'
BEMSDK Failure Code:  10:X8

I have read your articles in the link below

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH193212

but confused about step2 and step4.

For step 2: Where can I SQL Express 2005 Sp4 SQL Native Client?

For step 4: dbupgradebuildtobuild.sql is not mentioned in step3, what exactly is it?

Please help. thanks

For #2, if you do a Google search you MIGHT be able to find that particular module. Otherwise grab copies of the Data and Catalogs folders, and then run a manual repair of SQL Express.

For #4, check the TN below...this will give you an indication of the command to be run:

For all things...grab copies of the Data/Catalogs folders BEFORE doing any of these steps.

Thanks!

Regarding Step 2, download from this link - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20101

And about Step 4, (verbatim) ~
A) Open a elevated command prompt to \Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec folder.
B) Issue the following command (Case Sensitive)
osql -E -S <servername>\<SQL Instance Name> -dbedb -i dbupgradebuildtobuild.sql
Example:  Backup Exec default installation using default BKUPEXEC SQL server instance.
osql -E -S localhost\BKUPEXEC -d bedb -i dbupgradebuildtobuild.sql
