I am currently evaluating whether to upgrade to Backup Exec 2012 in a virtualized environment.
Can I setup Backup Exec 2012 in a windows 2008 hyper-v environment ?
eg. under the hyper-v environment, i have one physical server with one half going to Backup Exec 2012 and the other half going to Enterprise Vault 9.0.3.
Is this design workable ?
Or should I install only Backup Exec 2012 on the server for better performance ??

Its always recommended to install BE on a dedicated physical server.

If your Hyper-V host is not a Server 2008 Core machine, but a full Server 2008 machine, you can install BE 2012 on it. If you install BE 2012 in a VM, then you would have problems accessing real devices and it is not recommended.
