Backup Exec 9.1 Catalog question

infern0
Not applicable
I have a server that is running fine now.  However I can see sometime in the future the catalog files under where Veritas is installed will slowly fill the drive.  My question is this: is there any way to clean these up without hampering restore capabilities, and if so, how would I go about doing this as preventative maintenance.

Thanks in advance.

When you overwrite a volume, BackupExec should remove the old catalog

If you are  really getting into a crunch you could set the Trucate option.  This will remove all details from the catalog, but will continue to protect the tape according to the APP and APP of the media set  You would need to catalog a truncated  tape before being able to restore from it

You can also move the catalog to a drive with more space  - see
