What does "The connection to the Backup Exec database has been lost" mean? I have to relog on many times. What can I do to troubleshoot the problem?

Hello,

It could be that the Backup Exec SQL Database might be corrupt. You can perform a repair database operation and then try connecting to the database once again.

Please follow the instructions to perform a database repair.

1. Open Beutility. It is found under C:\Program Files\Veritas\Backup Exec\NT .

2. Choose the Media server in the 'All Media Servers' Options.

3. To the left hand side of the application select the option 'Repair Database' under Database Tasks. Run the Repair Database operation by clicking on this option.

Also check whether the version of MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) are updated to the latest 2.8 (or 2.8 sp1).

Please write to us if the issue persists.
