Dear all.
Is there a best practices for Active Directory backup?
I have two domain controllers (one primary and one additional).
Do I need to install agent on additional domain controller?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I'd only do so if the other DC has additional roles...in which case install the RAWS agent and backup the System State.
Thanks!

Hi
To backup domain controller you need to backup the drive which has OS installed with system state and in this case you need only remote agent license
If you want to do perform GRT backup then you would buy Active directory Recovery Agent which would help you to restore single objects

Hope that helps
Thanks

I know it, we have a number of Agent for Applications and Databases licences.
I installed agent on the primary domain controller to backup our Active Directory.
My question was Is this a good practice to install agent on the additional domain controller (definitely other physical server) to increase resiliency. We have licence to cover it too.

If you have the license it doesn't hurt to backup the DC. But like I said below, unless you have different roles on the 2nd DC, it might not make sense to backup it up and purchase a new license.
Thanks!
