Backup Exec Job Engine service stops when preparing a restore

Hi, We are using Backup Exec 12.5 over Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 SP2. I made a backup of WIN2003 w SQL. Then I set up a test system as similar to the original one as possible. I transferred data according to this article: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/319367.htm. And 2 bkf files needed for system restore. ( Everything seems working fine, except... I'm making a restore job and selecting the server to restore, but when I choose the backup date to restore the Backup Exec Job Engine service stops. What can be the reason? Thanks Csaba

Hi Csaba,

Have you checked application logs under event viewer?  What error message you get there for this Backup exec job engine service failure?

Hi,

There is no log in the application part, but in system.
EventID: 7034
Description: The Backup Exec Job Engine service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).

So it is not so informative.
