The Backup Exec Job engine service may fail intermittently due to reasons like third party applications running, lower MDAC components or service credentials issues.
Following steps will help to resolve the issue:
1. As a preliminary step, apply latest MDAC component (2.8 SP1). You can download it from the following URL: http://www.microsoft.com/data
Also please run MDAC Component checker and check whether there are any mismatched files from the link below:

2. Disable, anti- virus software running. This is for test purpose only. Verify the result.
