Backup Exec Server ver 11d - using an external hard drive

Will BE let you use an 250GB external hard drive as a media.
 
I am going thru tapes like crazy and their not very cost efficient.
 
We are currently running BE Server Ver. 11d.

yes, use the hardware wizard to create Backup to Disk (B2D) folders on the external disk.  It can be USB, Firewire, or eSATA
 
The only "gotcha" is that each physical hard drive must have it's own drive letter and always be mounted as that drive letter  (you can use Windows Disk Manager to force this)
