Backup Exec Slow Throughput

RE
Level 2
Our system is configured as so:

Backup Exec v12 fully patched
External SDLT 600
Windows Server 2003
500GB files (word/excel/pdf etc)

Up until a few weeks ago we were experiencing around 900mb-1gb throuput speeds, and then overnight it's dropped down to around 150mb! I've swapped the backup drive and scsi card, and also reinstalled the software with no luck. I've also switched off av to check too. All agents updated, and Symantec tape drivers reinstalled.

I've also directed the backup to a local drive and still experiencing the same speed. Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks

Hey man,

Could be network related. Any issues with a switch or drivers for your NICs?
Are the switch ports and NICs hard-coded to the maximum speed they can handle?
You can also check these 2 links for some additional information:

Laters!

Thanks Craig

Our network is running at 1GB, I'll try a generic file copy to see that speed

Come right here RE?

Did you do any Symantec updates before the drop in speed?
