Backup Exec does doesnt work correctly

Hi

I have a problem with Veritas BackupExec 10.0 on Windows Server 2003.

I want to Backup on an external USB-HDD which is pluged in on an other Server.

When I start a Job, there is always a message "Bereit; Es stehen keine Medienserver zur Verfügung" in the order state. In English: "Ready; there are no media-servers available".

The problem is, that i can connect to the shared folder with the windows explorer, but BackupExec can't.

I've restarted the services, but that doesn't fix the problem.

I hope you can help me

Thanks

If you define a B2D folder on the media server, and run a small test job, does that work OK?

Are all the BackupExec services started and running?

Hello

The problem is, that BE should overwrite the old backup, but it does not.
Could it be, that BE in a first step backup the files and in a second step deletes the old files?

If it's like i said, it's normal that there is too less memory.

We have this problem with more than one servers.

Is this a CASO environment?  if so, see http://support.veritas.com/docs/276645

if not, have you disabled RSM?  See http://support.veritas.com/docs/282316

Had another thought

On the media server, in the GUI, from the devices tab, is the server started and ready?
